Hi, I've bought a 1275, but I have a strange rivet type thing in the head. Was just wondering If it's supposed to be there or not, it's on the water pump side, Can anyone tell me ?

As said. Quite normal. It just closes off a hole that's left when the head is drilled to allow oil to reach the top face of the head :-))

Its a weird one but as said above is completely standard. The idea of an engine with what looks like a pop rivet in just shouts 'bodge' and I bet its confused thousands of people over the years. A bit like the wiggle pin in the clutch housing.

Cheers guys, that's put my mind at ease, and the wiggle pin is certainly a strange one, mine seems a bit oily so may have a leak !

The wiggle pin is there to keep the hole clear of crap, so the leaking lube drips out of the housing and not onto your clutch I think. Martin.
