Footman James - ask for a classic car policy - don't tell the youngsters on here how cheap it is, they will cry themselves to sleep!

Thanks for these reply's Guy's why does insurance seem to be one big nightmare,I am beginning to think they just make some of their prices up.Yes I can understand if you are young but at nearly 51 years of age I thought it would be a lot easier.

Hi Greenwheels I rang Footman James have had classic polices with them in the past,I could have lost it big time with the guy on the other end of the phone, told him the mini had Hi-Lo's he went away came back and needed to know the figures of how hi I could get it and how low it could go,when I said sorry do not know those sort of figures, his reply was we cannot quote then. Was I mad I thought Footman James understood Mini's,this is part of the big problem just finding a company that understands the little car,and most of the common mods that most of us do.

Try Haggerty, ive got a better price from them than with Adrian Flux for a heavily moddified min, discounted further if you are member of a club.

FJ has sent me my reminder and they want £140 this year but thats for 1 mini and 2 marinas without mods. My other mini (1992 cooper spi) is on a modern policy with swinton and my premium is £104 per year. I insure the cooper on a modern policy so that I can keep my ncb and also have cover for when I drive other cars and im 38

Try Peter James, they do competitvley priced classic car policies with agreed valuation, legal cover and breakdown cover as standard. (Much the same deal as with Footman James, but a whole lot better organised and with much better customer service.) Mods wise you provide them with basic details over the phone for a quote/ to start cover, and then they send you a modified vehicle report for you to complete with all the details, so that nothing gets missed. http://www.peterjame...ts/classic-cars

Once again many thanks for your help and reply's with this,as it stands Peter James are coming up with the best price @£104.00,followed by Adrian Flux @ £122.50 but these are on 1500 mile full classic polices.

Give " Peter H Smith " a google, i have been with them for a couple of years with a 1380 rally spec mini and i pay £94.00 per year fully comprehensive on a 3000 mile limit and an agreed valuation on production of afew photos, they are a family run business with no frills and are good to deal with.

Avoid Adrian Flux, they are the, "Worst broker in the World".
Try Carol Nash.
