Any one had actual experience of nailing an auto engine to a manual box? I have a 93` Sprite 1275 Auto, hif38 (I think) with 55000 miles on it and it seems a shame to sling the engine. Already have a Metro MG1275 engine and box ready to drop in. Have built plenty of A series motors but never come across the auto unit before , is the crank nose the same as manual type (for fitting flywheel to) ? Does the oil way line up the same as on the manual gearbox ? Dont mind having to machine or fit remote oil pipes etc.

Found the info , brilliant ! Thank you Captain Mainwaring . Looks do`able. Will block the oil feed in the top of the gearbox and take a tight 90 deg. feed from the side to the pump instead. Sorted.
