You work up through the rev range taking note of where the amount of degrees advance gives the most torque, without pinking and adjust the primary and secondary springs to achieve this, the total advance mechanically is set by the advance weights at a preset rev by the type of weight you insert 10,11,12,13,degs which is the total mechanical advance in distributor degrees, which is half engine speed, so for example 12deg weights would give 24degs of mechanical advance. A dyno here is a big help, or you have done enough of the you can be in the ball park like Aldon

My 12G940 head is already skimmed so my CR is over 10:1 .. still need to accurately calculate it. Unless anyone can tell me what it is likely to be with 70 thou off the head. Standard head is 21.4cc I believe.
I plan to only run it on V-Power (or similar) .. but have been advised to try and reduce CR to closer to 10:1.
So one option is to de-shroud the valves slightly and get a few decimal points back on the capacity.
PS AC: I am planning on a 276 cam in my 1330 too.

Gasket set isn't a problem but I can't seem to find if there's a full oil seal set for the engine and box available, or do I have to buy every seal separately?

Not sure you can get a seal set, I've always bought them separate
