Hi recently cleared a garage and came across a whole range of classic mini bits and pieces amongst all the carbs this one was different could anyone tell me what carb this is and if it looks complete?

Will add more images of items found if anyone is interested may put them up for sale .

Hif38 as said, and does look pretty much complete from what can be seen. All thought it would definitely benefit from a cleanup/rebuild

What is the black cylinder on the side of the carb?

It's on the float vent, some hif's have solenoid valves, for overrun fuel cut, but I think it's an emissions filter.

FZX 1414 was the HIF 38 fitted to the 1982 onwards Metro 1.0 HLE.

Great information thank you.

So with a good service and clean up, could this potentially fit on to my 998 engine would there be an increase of power over the standard carb on a rover '92 998cc or would this hinder the performance?
