Hey everyone, this is my first car restoration so expect a lot of newbie questions in this thread.

My dad was looking on ebay for mini parts and came across this mk2. It didn't look to bad, was local (within 1 hour drive) and was reasonably priced. I decided to bid on it and won it on Friday and collected it Saturday morning, 1st of February. The guy who was selling it, Mick was a genuinely nice guy and really sad to see it go. He bought it 13 years ago, drove it for 2 years and then left it in his garage for the last 11 years. He did intend on restoring it himself but due to certain circumstances, he doesn't have the time or space to do it. If my memory serves me right, its only had 2 or 3 owners too. I'd have to check.

The car is complete, original engine, it does have a bonnet and glass. He also gave me a tonne of new old spares. I'll share some more images later

Looks like a good starting point. Have you got any plans for it yet?

Here my other, another "1969 morris Mk2 1000" with a 1275. Only by V5, the engine is a late 80's so I'm told. I have nothing but problems with it but its my first car so can't help but love it.

As for plans with the mk2, I'll be keeping it the same colour, island blue although its a had a respray in its lifetime. Thats why it looks a lighter colour. I'll lightly tune the engine and swapping out the hydro suspension for a nice dry set up. I kinda want to go for a period race car look. Not sure yet.

Looks like a great project there mate and its condition doesn't look to bad either to be fair, I

would be one for a restoration back to its originality, It has the original engine and would eventually be worth a quite a few bob, Your other Mini looks a blinder too, The wheels set it off a treat, Very nice ;-)

Any changes I make will be easily reversible ones hopefully. Even if I got a bigger engine, I'd still keep the original somewhere safe.

I love this  I find the Mk2 is very much overlooked as it was only around for a couple of years. Looking forward to the updates - it appears you've got a half decent project!

Hey folks, haven't posted in a long time but the mini is up for sale. I'll be starting a new job soon and I won't have the time to get anything done on it. The project has stood still due to lack of funds. Life is cruel

If anyone would be interested in buying it or advising me on where to sell it, that would be great. Even how much it would be worth, I've got a rough idea of what to sell it for.
