That looks like a good project.

Try and do a little bit every day, that way it carries momentum.

Hi Mikey,

They look like Minilights to me, not a bad little alloy :).

Looks as if your auto has had front floor patches, could reveal some nasties under the sills, have a look at the first page on my project Checkmate to se if you've got "Oversills" fitted under the car, they trap moisture no end and rot from within, so what you see on the surface isn't always whats going on within!.

Goodluck, im following your thread and will enjoy watching your Auto Mayfair come together :),

So update on the mini, well she lives clean carb new plugs and started no problem but when I stuck her in gear or revers she didn't want to move, I read on here that they last for about 40'000 miles mine having just over 80kvi thought I best look for a auto box, sell that was my next shock! The prices man oh man,

Any way after speaking with a mate he told me he could get me a manual engine and gearbox and pedal box and gear linkage complet for about £350 and he was only 15 miles away, so I thought well why not,

I had heard this bloke has a few mini's we took a drive out to see what he had, he had two very nice minis and loads others about 9 I think, he offered me a shell but was pretty bad that was in the grass with one on it's roof and white one cut up for free! (See pic).
Any way I got the engine and other parts and few other bits for £350
So going to take my engine and box out at the weekend and see what I have to do.

Well last. I gut I managed to get the engine out of my mini so I can start to get wings and ready for paint,

Well it was a bit tricky having never took an engine out of a car in my life! Even if it is a mini haha
But I got there in the end with the help of my friend who is mad for engines and cars and minis,

So we had to take his dad's car out the garage and stick the mini in first, I some how wish my mini will look as good as his dad's car... Maybe one day,

Anyway the engine is out and our home made crane thing worked, well sort off the first strap staped and hit the mini front end but I wil be fixing it or getting a new front panel anyway but still what a bang!

Second attempt we had her out and hanging. Not to sure what am going to do with the auto engine yet as I am sticking a manual in,

So now I just need to save some pennies and hope moving house dosnt cost so much so I can get the mini welded up and ready for paint,
