hi guys

ive got a modified mini7 cylinder head, and i cant seem to be able to fit a thermostat in it! the recess in the head is too small, and there is a cast lump in the side of it for a thread of some sort, doesnt let a blanking sleeve in.

whats going on, wrong thermostat, are there smaller ones?  i know its a large bore head, but there is no 12G940 markings. all the casting numbers there are is 7C7 on the right hand side just behind the thermostat and on the left there is LDF 106800

thanks

I thought the mpi was ldf105800. Does it have the tapped holes on the front for the alternator bracket?

right.  if i run an MPI thermostat housing and spacer, i only have one question, i want to run a thermostat blanking plate instead of a thermostat because its a race car, do i need to, seeing as its out of the head and cant be doing a great deal?
