thought my car wasnt a good runner the other day, but my eldest brother who has had many minis ensured me it was fine

however, on de-acceleration, i can get shudders through the car, especially very noticeable when its getting close to needing a down gear change, im sure when i have my clutch ffoot rested on the floor i can feel the exhaust shaking when i have no acceleration.

my question is, what is this? is it cureable?

my dad has said its the engine mounts which need replacing

any thoughts?

Engine mounts and specifically the top engine steady bushes !

If your car is sometimes jerking, tell it that it will go blind if it carries on, that usually does the trick!
