i always wanted a mini untill my brother showed me a fiesta mk1 and my obsession began, but im thinking of buying one as a project now after owning fiestas for 3-4 years, ideally a 1275gt that i can build from prettymuch a bare shell so will get a few to "tidy up" and learn how everything goes together before embarking on a complete rebuild. if anybody knows of any really cheap minis in merseyside i would be interested :D

heres my two current fiestas, a black 1983 Quartz and my recent purchase, a black and pink ex-hillclimb, 1600cc super sport... i like black cars

That's a decent project in my opinion but it requires a fair amount of work, if you could turn that around it would end up being a very neat GT, plus it will be tax exempt come April 2016 too

I wouldn't mind that project for myself but already got one going at the moment cant manage two at once!!

You might want to view it first though sometimes they look better in pictures than in person

looking at the pictures, i see red or orange behind where the dash goes... i take it that lovely blue wont have been the original colour?

looking for either a black one or a bright one like that which will contract nicely with a black grille, black wheels etc, but i dont like it when a car isnt kept in atleast a variation of the original colour.

are panels hard to find (sills etc)? any tips on what to look for on that particular car if i do end up going to view it?

Yeah its likely to have been resprayed, only trouble I had with my mini is the GT and Clubman complete fronts are difficult to find cheap. I managed to buy wings, bonnet and front end all in one for £130 but has taken a lot of time and welding to put them back solid as they were rotten and rusty (and I drove to Wolverhampton to pick them up)!!

From mini spares your looking at least £600+ for the complete Clubman front so your better off finding a car with them already intact and repairable condition.
