If they are just spinning cut the heads off the bolts which will allow the subframe to be removed. Then the captive nuts will need replacing which is possible to do with the outer sill removed.

Bit more done tonight ,
The most hated words of any mini owner " pedal box split pins"
Must have spent an hour on my back getting those out lol

The inside is totally stripped now apart from the gear linkage and handbrake

Love full nut and bolt restorations. So is it going to be back to original or will there be mods?

 

Also, could someone please explain to me about the numberplate/tiny business? I feel like a right tool but i just don't get it!

No it wont be standard , but im not going over the top with mods as id like it to be driveable, might lower it a touch but only if i have to.
The reg is "PEU" and in french that means small or "tiny" so it suits the car well.

I couldn't see one shifty. I did look, only thing I could see was about Michelle mcmannus winning the xfactor ! So that makes it about 2007 so google says lol

More done ,
Finally got the rear subframe out

Nice and crusty under there

Its pretty badly bent and corroded , looks ok in the pics , so will be looking for another one.

Took the front calipers, discs and hubs off last night as its got the 8.4 set up on it, i take it the driveshafts are the same as id like to swap to the 7.5 set up

Next up is to remove the steering rack , take lots of measurements and get her braced up.

He's not looking too bad!!

 

Also the cv joints are the same for the 7.5" and 8.4" brakes
