sit back and relax , big update time!

Speaking with AC on here got some great advice about my engine, he said to strip down completely , boy was i glad i did!

here is what i found.

one very poorly engine

so it looks like it needs boring out to the next size up probably 1293 but will get it measured first to be double sure, could do with a new cam as the lobes are worn, and the crank is knackered as you can see , not too fussed by this at least i know it will be done right.

while the engine is in bits i had some parts aquablasted.

before

Those powder coated bottom arms look really good. I was going to paint mine because i didn't know how the powdercoating would look but i think i might go that way now.

How much does Aqua blasting cost?

Cheers

Ben

That's the way to go then!

Mine look worse than yours did at the moment.

I have tried to clean them up but i only done about 5" squared in about 40 mins so defiantly going to send them away.

Cheers for that

Ben

got more done recently.....

and painted with galv spray.

finished my hi-los, polished the bodys and replated the nuts and bolts

DSC00838_zpswak0jegz.jpg

replated my shafts, came up quite good!

DSC00852_zpsb8prbojd.jpg

finished my rear light, think it needs another final polish.replated the original screws and used new lenses.

DSC00848_zps9eeufkt9.jpg

DSC00847_zpsnpvsw7vd.jpg

plated the subframe bolts

DSC00842_zpsevrlcfvi.jpg

DSC00840_zpsqgob6yvu.jpg

rebuilt my top arms , all suspension parts have been sand blasted , primered in galv spray and painted in a couple of coats of 1k chassis paint,

new bearings, pins etc.

DSC00850_zpsgrnjqcgj.jpg

got some parts back from the powdercoaters

DSC00855_zpsam16r5nu.jpg

DSC00858_zpsr4fegi7b.jpg

DSC00859_zpsjrcjllto.jpg

DSC00860_zpsmi2hqtut.jpg

DSC00856_zps0ouprfob.jpg

all done in satin black.

and found a fuel can which i thought was nice , had it blasted and just needs painting, was hoping to get some petrol resistant paint , but only stuff ive found is petrol resistant laquer, thinking saitin black for this too.
