Quite a few holes are not needed.

If you look over my rebuild when i fitted the inner wing, you will see which ones i deleted.

thanks ben , nearly finished the inner wing pics 2morrow!

picked up a set of these yesterday , after a thorough clean with isopropyl alcohol and some re-colouring with black dye and a matt finish over the top they came out looking good , (not quite dry in the pics , still need leather conditioner over the top in about a weeks time)

going to plastidip the silver triangle and the backs matt black.

It's funny how some of the panels fit and then others need a good fettleing to get them right. I can see why in someone else's thread tha heritage said they don't build concourse shells. If I had the patience I think I would do what you are doing and it also seems like it would be fun

Thanks james, the n/s wing is a terrible fit , worse than the o/s , and all these panels so far are genuine .
Makes you wonder if i would have the same trouble if i fitted magnum,
Least i know it will be rust free, im trying to saturate the welded joints before and after in zinc spray to really push paint in the seams.

I had exactly the same problem with my inner wings. Drivers side was so much easier to get right. I've been spraying zinc I between the joins and fitting some parts while the paint is still a bit wet hopefully it will work and my seams won't go rusty. I wonder if doing things this way does it work out cheaper than buying a new shell

Id like to think so , the only panels ive paid retail for is the bulkhead and floor , everything else ive saved money on , plus judging by other peoples comments on the shells they seem to be thrown together !

Yeah my friend said that the quality of the new shells is poor hence why I started to rebuild mine and not buy one.

Love the RX8 seats  - used to have one as my midlife crisis sports car.

Thanks matey they are really comfy. As they came with the rears I was going to fit those too bit they are far too tall and wide. Shame but I wasn't planning on running rear seats anyway. Thanks for posting. Mark

picked up this little lot today from Cooperman, (nice to meet you pete!)   :-)

1275 engine , just needs a quick hone and new rings , crank is all good , just needs a micropolish which i can do,

and came with a head, not sure which head to use yet as my original engine came with a 11 stud and seems to have had a lot of work done on the ports.

plan is to swap the original cam for this one

http://www.minispare...|Back to search

get rob walker in oxford to do the honing, put in new cam bearings, and possibly drill the block for the 11 stud head.

then new bottom end bearings etc etc
