hi, been on google maps today looking for a route to drive round and came across the cat and fiddle which looks to be a sensational road. However as far as I can work out its completely covered by 50mph average speed cameras?

is that the case and if so how is it so popular with bikes/ quick cars? Is 50average actually quite hard to manage? Or do the YouTube videos know something I don't!

Yep it's 50 all the way. The misses parents live in Macclesfield so have driven up to Buxton a few times. Starts off camera free but when you hit the summit that's when the cameras spoil the fun

There is a game I like to play on that road now. Try and take every corner without dropping below 30 and with out crossing any lines.

It used to be amazing but to be honest the speeds bikers used to do was just stupid (sadly I can include myself in that on occasion) and there were a load of bad accidents. It has ruined one of the best roads in the world.
