Today the Exhaust fell off Bob from the front pipe where the Y piece joins to the LCB.

Bob has a full Maniflow system fitted and the 2 clamps on the y piece were fully tight (and fully tight even when it fell off the car so the bolts didn't vibrate loose…)

Is this common on Maniflow LCB systems? Just glad we were only doing about 5 mph when it fell off and was scraping down the road!!

Should there be a hanger anywhere along the front of the pipe? I only see a hanger on the manifold downpipes, very rear of the long pipe and on the back box area.

Little worried about it falling off again now… should I pack it with exhaust paste and clamp it down again or can you get better clamps?

No! Maniflow systems are the best quality you can get, are you sure the 'y' piece was pushed on fully, and the pipes are the correct sizes and a good fit

Was the pipe in far enough? Are your engine steady bushes in good condition, as a lot of rocking from the engine could work it loose. Is there a bracket between the manifold and gearbox?

yea one between the manifold and box.

It has polybush mounts

It should have been on fully, and the pipes seem correct, will push it on as far as possible and clamp it on with exhaust paste as well

The previous owner fitted it, Going by the rest of his work on the car he probably left it half off...

The power loss with no exhaust is a lot!! now Im starting to think switching to a free flow setup might be better than the LCB on the 998 that the previous owner fitted

Exhaust paste is crap, it's just a good way to make your hands messy and make the job more irritating

Exhaust paste is there to prevent blowing and cases like this.
