Getting A V5

Hi guys i have the reg number but cant find the vin number where is it and if i havent got it how do i get a v5. I have the form ive filled it in but it asks for the vin and states if its not filled in the form will be sent back so because its a bare shell i dont have the engine number and assuming i dont have the vin number how do i get a v5 with just the reg number

Normally on a plate on the front slam panel next to the commision number.... how confident are you the reg is with the shell?

Quite confident problem i have is i chopped the rusty front of yesterday stuck it in the alley way for the scrap boys gone this morning ..and at some point its had a new slam panel can i not do it of the reg number and i can go back two owners so i know the car sondę about 93

sorry for the hijack im in the same boat bought an 89 f reg shell was like swiss cheese

scrapers came took shell along with chassis plate is there any way i can find this or speak to dvla

as i have all the parts inc a really good 47k engine but need a shell for the reg

The 89 is now scrapped.... gone... no more... has popped it's mortal coil... pushing up the daisies... it's a dead parrot...

What you're proposing is illegal. That ID is now scrap. You need to send the logbook to the DVLA and declare it as scrap.

Using a second hand shell is fine...IF that shell comes with its own ID and some other components like a steering rack and rear subframe.

This is true. If using a new shell then it's legal.

I think buying a heritage shell would probably work out cheaper in the long run

Really? All very top secret.

Simple enough to see if the car has been scrapped - but you are implying you can lift the VIN and engine number from the VRM- is that so?

 

I'd guess that unless you work at either the DVLA or are a wooden top then you won't get the chassis/engine number from just the number plate, in fact I'm prepared to bet you a fiver.

 

Check out WCH 525G and tell me what it is....I know it's a cooper 1000.....can you tell me anything else about it?

If you've got an account with HPI check companies you can get the VIN number using the reg.
