just getting the mini finished got it started but noticed fuel on floor under car

checked with a torch looks like the float needle isnt working i have replaced the needle and insert but still leaking

it has a plastic float with no way of adjusting depth is there anything that i can do to stop the leak

also is there supposed to be a return to the tank for the overflow or should it just be sitting down the side of the gearbox like it is ?

thanks in advance

nelo

No return to tank just the pipe you have over the gearbox, if you have replaced the needle valve and its still leaking its either the float height is incorrect or the floats got a hole in it. the float height can be adjusted with a small washer under the sea, .if you have no tab to bend

What carb do you have HS or HIF?

Also worth fitting an in-line petrol filter just before the carb, if you don't have one already.

Even a small bit of dirt can stop the needle from seating properly and cause carb overflow.
