Just finished sorting out the brushed aluminium dashboard in the John Cooper limited-edition.

It was starting to peel right in the middle just under the glove compartment.

After wandering around Beaulieu, I noticed nearly all of the dashboards that were like mine, we're doing the same thing, so I set about trying to sort it out.

Using a hairdryer I very carefully heated up the dashboard until the aluminium parted from the double sided adhesive tape far enough back for me to cut out the faulty tape, and replace it with numberplate tape, which was exactly the right thickness. After unbending the wrinkled aluminium at the point where it had pulled away, I carefully stuck it back down onto the dashboard.

I'm very pleased with the result, as it now looks like new. And it saved me having to take the dashboard completely out as well.

I just thought this might be helpful to anybody out there with the same problem.

All the very best from Bloke
