Can any of you kind people post up some pictures of Mini's painted mostly DIY using cellulose as I am gonna be using it to paint my mini soon.  I know 2 pack does give more of a modern gloss look and cellulose a more traditional classic look so need to look and compare.

pics please thanks

thanks mate. So you got the gloss finish from just the cellulose paint using top gloss thinners or did you put on a cellulose lacquer afterwards if there is such a thing?

You can mix clear in with the colour for the final coats. Gives a nice glassy look.

Probably not much use to you as it hasn't been wet sanded or polished yet.

yep just from the paint no laquer clear coat etc, insure top coat thinners is used as this gives it a shine, unlike the gun cleaning thinners

thanks for the info I will see what gloss finish i get from the paint and using top gloss thinners as said and then if needed will do a clear coat with the last coat of paint.

I just got this and it was painted in 2011 and covered in stickers, removed the stickers and machine polished the paint with a Maguiars DA mop and some Farecla G3 rubbing compound. Not even polished and waxed yet. Paintjob isn't the best due to but it holds a good shine and reflection.

Seriously...who would use gun wash thinners in any thing but washing your gun. Its not even suitable for primer..yet alone undercoat & top coat.

You want A grade thinner for under coat and top coat.

Why would you skimp a few bucks on using **** thinners....

Use A grade and enjoy the results.

Clear in your top coats helps as well to give a glass like gloss that cuts and buffs beautifuly.

A restored, by my grandson & me, Mayfair painted in cellulose, again by me, a few years ago. Ignore the date on the photo as it was my wife's camera and she can't set dates on it.
