Hi I was going to fit a new master cylinder tonight. I'm unsure which way round to fit the brake lines from master cylinder to the pressure reducing valve. The new one came with fitting diagram showing the top line on the master cylinder going to the left hand side of the PRV (when viewed from front of the car) however it appears my old one was the opposite. I've attached some pictures. Thanks in advance

Is it the yellow tag master cylinder?

If it is, the ports have been reversed from the earlier type, the bottom union(12 mm) goes to the rear brakes, which is the right hand side if looking from front, and the top union(10mm) goes to the front, left hand side looking from front.

now I have seen the pictures, it's a bit easier, you are replacing like for like, so the pipes should go bottom of m/cylinder to right of prv(rear brakes), and top of m/cylinder to l/hand side of prv(front brakes)

I have looked at one of  your first pictures in your rebuild thread, and that is how it was previously piped up, so it was correct.

Here's a diagram courtesy of Minimania to confirm how your pipes should be connected: http://goo.gl/JsNcvZ

I did a wonderful pipe bending job which looked absolutely perfect with lovely bends and spot on angles, until I took a second look and realised I'd got them the wrong way round...
