hi , i have a 1989 mini racing green and am fitting a 1989 1275 mg metro engine.

Fitting the standard hif 44 carb on a maniflow manifold but bowl hits the bulkhead

Fitted longer stabiliser to push engine forward ,cleared the bulkhead then the Y on exhaust manifold was tight on underside of car.

refitted standard stabiliser bar took the14mm spacer block out from carb/manifold and fitted 6.75 mm spacer from minispares.

This helped but still hitting bulkhead.

Surely this a standard conversion so will someone please help this newbie with some advice on what i should do.Thanks for reading and hope you understand my rambling

I have one on my 1330 and the standard MG Metro manifold is shorter and fits without altering the stabliser rods

When i fitted a HIF44 i had the same issue. I found that a hammer to the problem area sorted it. ;D
