Hi. I've got a suck through supercharger setup, and engines out at the moment to replace my clutch, and I've been over thinking something in trying to improve a system that is working pretty well.

I've been reading the following topic on air bypass valves and I think the general consensus is that it won't work on suck through.
http://www.theminifo...alve/?p=2910030

I'm wondering if I had a switch operated solenoid (like an anti run on valve) mounted from the inlet manifold back to the inlet of the charger would work. I'm wondering if when open it would limit the noise of my car (which fails at castlecoombe meaning I have to install a power zapping muffler), and then at the switch of a button, back to no bypass.

So say the valve open at 4000 revs, surly boosted air would do another lap of the system and there would be no benefit?

I would think that the conventional use of a bypass wouldn't apply to a suck though as the restriction on throttle shut down leaves a vacuum before the charger rather than boost hitting the butterfly of a blow through setup. - does that mean there would be no increase in heat generated by the charger by not using a valve.

Bum idea?

Tried quite a few exhausts, I found the maniflow system the quietest and nicest sound. It's the charger that's making the racket as I've heard the exhaust on many other n\a cars and they are no where near as loud

Change the exhaust system for another system!
