Hi I have found a body tag on the driver side floor pan of my mini but can't find nothing out about it. It was mainly covered by sound deadening and was just wondering if anybody knew anything about them. Thanks

It's the Floor pressing number, like the FE ('Front End') they weren't really recorded, however some people have done some research on the FE number side of things, I don't know if they have linked the two number together though

That's cool so it pretty much verifies that the floor pans are original like I was told they where, thanks for that an where would the number tag be found on the front end because there is another random tag welded to the front panel but I'm sure that starts with bso2 or something along those lines thanks Ryan.

The FE number (if it has one) would be spot welded on the N/S inner wing above the (body) radiator cowling, this is where it is on early cars, I'm not to sure about the modern (after 1971 !) ones though

Several members of the Mk1 forum have collected and collated the numbers over the years:

Thank you all well mine is a 1974 and I'm pretty sure it doesn't have a number above the rad but will have a good look around the front end on Saturday see if I can anything. If there isn't one on it would it suggest it's had the front end replaced because i also got told it still had its original wings and front panel or did not all minis get these numbers?
