Powdercoated shell....? Powdercoat leaves an orange peely finish in my experience and it will just look weird. Dont see the attraction myself, especially with the level of heat required!

Also how are you going to powder coat the inside of the box sections and stuff, witch powder coating will not do or get anywhere near.
And as all powder coat is, is a plastic powder witch is sprayed on and them baked to melt it to form hard plastic coating, at witch at no point does it actually etch or stick to the part that coated. So if there's nothing under it to protect the shell (powder coat needs to be sprayed onto bare metal) once it is chipped and water/moisture finds it way under the coating it WILL rust away underneath until its bad enough to lift the coating.
There is also the problem that you cant touch up powder coating, unlike paint and the only way would be to completely strip and redo the whole part.
