Problem with headlights and back lights and dip beam.
I have remade the connections removing the bullet connections, and still nothing. I have high beam, but no headlights and no rear lights also when put in full beam nothing.
The fuses are fine and checked and connections.
Anyone got any ideas..it's thrown me:-S

Check all connections behind the grill, there are 4 fuses behind the dash just above the steering column for front dip and main beam, also check the fuse box not just that any fuses have blown but are also making contact properly, there are also the inline fuses on the bulk head behind the air cleaner box, not sure if any of these control the headlights. Check all earth connections and connections upto and including the light switches.

Is the switch faulty? Check for power before and after switch with a 12v test light.

There are no fuses on the headlight on the earlier cars, the only cars to have fuses on the headlights are the later MPIs with the 24 fuse box and they are fused side for side

Check the circuit with you meter and start at the input to the switch, wiring colours are in the FAQs electrical section under BS-AU7 wiring colours.

Thanks for that Kernow, I have learnt something about earlier cars, I have a 93 SPi and a 98 MPi and both have the headlight inline fuses.

Does your SPI have the 4 terminal fuse or if its a very late SPI the 24 fuse box? if the earlier fuse box your headlights should not be fused standard.
