hi guys,

just welded up my boot floor with a couple of panels ( repair panel, corners, closers, valence etc) due to rust.

The new panels are bare metal. how should i go about priming, painting and protecting?

Should i give etch primer on both sides? Then paint inside the boot cherry red (austin mini 30 limited editon) and cover the outside in waxoyl?

Just wondering the best way to paint + protect.

cheers

If it is bare metal etch, prime and paint both sides. Then on the underside waxoyl or whatever product you want to use. The etch is still porous. Even covering it with waxoyl won't give the protection you need. One scrape and hello rust again.
