Whistling, Smoke And No Go!? Needs Fixing To Be A Prom Car!

Im hoping someone can help me as Im in a bit of a pickle! Luna is due to be a prom car on Friday, but when I got in her to drive to work this morning there is a low whistling noise coming from under the bonnet, smoke coming out the exhaust and she has no willingness to go. Now, as I had to get to work I havent had time to investigate what might be wrong, but if I need to get a garage involved, I need to do it today and it will be too late by the time I get home this evening. So my question is, what might it be? Air filter blocked, contaminated fuel, head gasket?! Is it likely to be an easy fix or do I need to ring my garage ASAP?
Thanks!

you need source of elect/Air/ Fule for ignition check them all systematically and see what you get
take air filter off and see if that starts
whistling noise could be alt/fan belt being loose,

Check for mayo in the rocker if you are loosing water.
is it white smoke/steam?

I can't currently check the rocker as car is 8 miles away (I know that's unhelpful in this situation!)
There's no knocking or banging, which is what I'd associate with head gasket. I'm just desperate to get it sorted as don't want to let the young lady down on Friday for getting to her prom

Check the vacuum breather hose in the carb hasn't popped off (assuming it's not injected).
