Hi,

Refurbing my upper suspension arms - again - and I am putting new needle bearings in to the end of the arm. I'm drifting them in using an old set of needle rollers. When I slide the suspension upper arm pin in it is held fast. When I compare that to the same pin slid in to a brand new arm for the other side from Minispares, that moves easily.

Why could it be so tight? It looks like the needle roller is in straight so I don't think its because it has gone in at an angle. The same needle roller slid over the pin and moved freely when I tested it before putting it in to the arm.

Any ideas?

could be that there is a foreign body in there, wouldn't take a lot to push one side and jam it up. Or maybe it could be an accumulation of tolerance errors, hole a thou to small, bearing a thou to big, pin a thou to big.

Sounds like its either got to come out or you remove material from the pin until the correct clearance is achieved.
