Hi;

I have stripped and cleaned my Radius Arms and Hubs etc. Last thing to take off, apart from the Hub, is the Brake Adjusters, after soaking in WD 40 etc I have managed to undo one of them but how on earth does it come out to be replaced? The threaded end is a larger diameter than the hole on the back of the Backplate so it won't come out that way and is encased on the inside of the Backplate???

EDIT:Sorry being completely thick, just watched a You Tube Video and realised that the hole in the encasement inside the Backplate is actually large enough....................DOH!!!

Video here

I seem to remember they come out by winding them all the way through

Since it's turned into an info topic:

Metro backplates are interchangeable and have bolt on adjusters, probably no cost saving if you end up buying new though.

Yep, out they came, they are removed by screwing them all the way into the drum housing. Had to wind them in and out a few times to clean the threads and I had to use a 5/16 Star Socket on one as it was stuck and the head was slightly out of shape, the Brake Spanner would have rounded it off. They are a cheap replaceable part but these are still serviceable at a push.

Haven't ventured to taking the Hub off yet but I am not looking at swapping them out just yet, but thanks for the advice.
