Basically yesterday was driving to my mates dipped my clutch to go around the corner and gear to 2nd and it cut out it was only running on 3 cylinders cause my ht leads are dead but after that it wouldnt start up again for a few minutes so started it up and limped it up to hers. So DexiWolf (dec) was round as well so we swapped number 4 ht lead with his an it ran fine untill the same corner where it cut out again!!! And wouldnt start for a few minutes again!!! So we turned the fuel up a little bit as it was really lean but on the way home i was running on all 4 cylinders came off a round aboutbit went down to 3 (this is with my ht lead back on) then it cut out again when i dipped my clutch

What could have gone wrong and how do i check and fix it.

P.s can i have an idiots guide please

I would go with -

new leads esp coil lead (which sound old) & check plug condition

with it cutting out on corners , I would look in the float chamber & for water / dirt in fuel / tank

check the wiring around the coil / dizzi as movement may exaggerate a poor join / connection / bad wire

smarter folk will be along soon ;o)

has the float chamber got 3 screws on it ? -

if so undo them , have a look inside

you are looking for dirt & maybe a bit of water

if you have an integral float (HIF) then it's more complicated
