Just ordered 250 quids worth of kit from minispares and ebay!

Stage one kit (twin box rc40 for 998)
New alloy rocker cover with new screws
New pedal rubbers
Tin of yellow pain for my engine block
A load of new hoses

I only have a set of ramps to aid with the fitting of the stage one, should that be enough?

So bring on a few weeks of fitting the stage one and making my engine bay a bit tidier. Any suggestions on how to polish up any other bare metal (have a load of assorted sandpaper/wet and dry), or suggestions of what else i can do to sort out the mess that is my engine bay?

Did you not consider becoming a TMF+ member which costs a fiver and getting 7.5% discount at Minispares?

I fitted mine with a set of ramps and axle stands and it was easy enough. May be more awkward with only ramps but to be honest running it under the car was the simple bit after the fiddly engine bay stuff

How are you planning on getting the car setup after fitting the stage 1 kit? The best and easiest way to get the most out of it is with a rolling road session, so you might want to consider holding off on fitting the kit, if you haven't budgeted for one of those.

Yep, rolling road is budgeted for, car is sorn now for about 5 months because im not allowed to drive it, so plenty of time to fit. Will have the car tuned down at slark engineering when ive done everything. So planning on taking alot of stuff off the car to clean it all up and make sure everything's alright

I had this the other week.

Popped over after work and just reeled of a load of parts I was after, wasn't too bad at £308 but I went up there for £47 worth of stuff. £50 soon doubled and then doubled, and then a bit more!

Had the bits arrived today! So i fitted the new manifolds... Horrendous job trying to get the exhaust manifold in behind the engine.

Just waiting for some grease to get here then the exhaust will be going on over the weekend along with everything else hopefully. Need to order a new inline fuse as i snapped one as i was getting things in behind the engine bay but other then that its a pretty easy job.

Any tips for getting the exhaust on right? As far as i can see i can find 3 places where the exhaust hangs off, one at the join to the manifold, one halfway down the car and one right at the back

Exhaust is fairly straightforward but remember it hangs, it's not strapped on :-) easish with front and rear up in the air there will be wrestling to get it to line up.

so keep it loose? im guessing the rubber washer type things the bolts go through let it move about a bit rather then being tight against the car?
