hi ive got a towbar for my clubman estate. how do they fit? the spare wheel well seams to be in the way. any advice appreciated

As far as i can remember, the long bar bolts to both the front and rear of the subframe.

 

If the profile is wrong and it doesn't fit without hitting the spare wheel well then you need to make sure it is the correct tow bar for the car.

 

I assume it came with no fitting instructions?

There's no instructions. I haven't looked with the subframe in the car yet it's a shell on a spit. I'll get the frame back in while it's upside down so I can have a look. Thanks

Since no Mini towbar was factory designed (even the ones in the accessory book were after market dealer fit) they fit in a wide variety of ways. Can you post a picture of yours?

Looks homemade to me.

 

Are you sure it is intended for a Mini?

that's what it was sold as. the boot floor is rotten so I may flat floor it if need be and brace it all up
