Bought this off Brett but the impending arrival of twins has resulted in some changed priorities! Shame really as I was sooo looking forward to using it!

Keep your eye's open for more bits coming up for sale as I'm planning on getting rid of the Clubby and all the shiny bits I had bought for it. On to the advert!!!

In this pretty much bolt on setup is:-

Metro Turbo exhaust manifold modified to suit the GT20, the ports have been opened out to the manifold gasket, the dividers have been cut back and the manifold very well ported, it comes fully assembled with the turbo on it using a Paul S T3-T2 adapter plate which Brett blended to match both the turbo and manifold. The downpipe was made by Brett and was the 3rd version (the turbo to downpipe flange is also a Paul S item), it can be fitted/removed with the engine in place and puts the exhaust in about the same place as a normal system, it starts at 63mm and works its way down to 51mm and will mate via a slip joint to a standard 2 inch system complete with wideband boss.

Genuine Garrett GT2056 bought from cossierick in the group buy (less than 2000 miles). Actuator has been relocated and the housing clocked to suit mini installation, the wastegate port has also been opened up as Brett had issues with boost creep at high rpm (porting the wastegate resolved this)

Also included is the braided oil feed (these are genuine aeroquip fittings and cost in excess of £80!) and turbo to block oil return (I have misplaced the silicone hose but I should be able to find a replacement).

I haven't taken any current pictures yet as it's wrapped up in a box under my workbench but have put some pictures up from Brett's old for sale thread and build thread. Everything looks the same (except a bit dirtier! lol)

I paid £525 for this setup so would like that or nearest offer.

Can deliver to MITP or the IMM.

Assuming the bulkhead doesn't need cutting for this turbo?

Sorry you assume wrongly. A bulkhead box will be required. There is no way you would get a GT20 down the back of a block without one.

For those of you who don't know this turbo setup is capable of efficiently delivering well over 20psi of boost and on a correctly specified and setup a-series engine deliver well in excess of 200bhp!

Can you give me a link to read the details of the required engine, or a quick run down, I've got a normal metro t3 at the moment, but I have the bug for the turbo power now lol

Hi Glyn,

Turbo Nick on this forum has a build thread and he used the same turbo setup.

He made around 200bhp at 20psi of boost on a very tired engine.

You could quite happily bolt this setup on a standard metro turbo engine and benefit from the characteristics of the modern turbo however as the Metro Turbo engine has quite a high static compression ratio I wouldn't recommend running more than about 10-12psi of boost with an efficient intercooler (this would deliver 120-140bhp maybe more), if you were to have the chambers in the head opened up and bring the CR down to the mid 8's (say 8.4:1) then raising the boost would be no problem providing you have profiled or install an appropriate needle for the fuelling and your ignition timing is appropriate (I use megajolt).

Turbo Phil's website has some cracking info along with some "possible engine builds" http://www.turbo-mini.com

What do you have at the minute? Just the turbo or a complete running engine? If so what spec is it?

I've got a 1293 turbo engine, omega 10cc dished pistons, running a 1.5 mm saver shim (like a decompression plate), 2 head gaskets, and a standard leaded mini head. Doing a tad of experimenting. My t3 has just died and I'm possibly looking to replace it, the £500 is too much really but I was just interested. I'm looking at the saab 93 turbos as well.

Get rid of the decomp plate and have the chambers in your head opened up. The cast 10cc omega's are a fine piston and i wouldn't hesitate to throw 20psi+ at them.

I can pretty much guarantee that by the time you have bought a GT17 off ebay described as good working order, mated it to your manifold, fashioned a downpipe, oil feed, oil drain and water feed for the core that you will be close to £500. Then well past it when you have to rebuild the turbo because it is actually knackered. Unless you buy a brand new one or one of the spurious Chinese copies.

I will split but would need buyers for everything.

Turbo £260
Manifold, DownPipe, Drain £200
Aeroquip Oil Feed £40

The manifold will also fit anything with a T2 flange. So GT1752, TD04, T2, T25, T28 etc.

Sorry for a million questions, if u used a gt1752 with that manifold would the bulkhead need curting?

Yes. Only person I know doing no bulkhead cut GT17 manifolds at the moment is Matty over on TM.
