Great idea doing a build diary for a customers car. Is the owner a member on here?
Good way of showing what you can do.
I shall be watching with interest.

Progress has been made this week on repairing and re-skinning the doors while we wait for parts to arrive for the repair of the main body shell.
As per usual, some of the hinge retaining studs sheared off and these had to be drilled out and the thread re-tapped.
I don't like these door bottom repair panels at all but they are all that is on the market so we have to do the best we can with them.
The biggest problem is when the bottom corners of the door have gone because the repair panel does not cover this area. This is where our fabrication skills are employed making the corners from scratch.
Ah that's better! A Genuine Heritage door skin ![]()
Not a brilliant photo sorry. The new bottom corner fabricated and welded in. This will be finished off with a skimming of filler once the door skin is fitted.
The bottom edge of the passenger door was in much better condition and only required a small section of the lower lip to be replaced. This was easily fabricated from plate steel and spot welded into position.
Once the bottom edge repairs are done all the bare steel is given a coat of red oxide anti corrosion paint. Once that is dry, seem sealant is used around the edges of the welded areas. Once that has dried another coat of red oxide is applied. When the skin is fitted both inside and outside of the door at the bottom edge will have stone chip applied before painting.
