all of a sudden my spi is filling the inside of the car with exhaust fumes ,,seems to come and go depending on speed ,any ideas???

  Check the boot seal and look for any holes in the boot and generally inspect the exhaust for leaks.

Its definitely coming from engine end of car .. drove this morning and goin up hill it was really strong and the car wasnt hot

Time to go underneath and have a look around manifold, front pipe area and check for leaks.

yer definantly sounds like a leak in the manifold, perhaps the inlet to manifold?....have you done any repairs recently around this area?......only other thing is a fuel smell..which could mean your breather hoses are cracked?
