Hi!

I just announced myself as a newbie to the forum.

My first query is about tyres:

One change I need to make to my '25' is a new front tyre. The tracking/alignment is out so am going to get that sorted and also need a new tyre.

One the back (and spare) I have 3 x P3000 145/70 R12's. On the front I have the a Falken of the same size and a quite worn P3000.

I was going to put the spare 3000 on the front, switch to the spare and then buy a new P3000 as a replacement to the worn tyre.

Problem is that they don't seem to sell any 12" versions any more.

3 questions:

  1. Is it possible to find a Pirelli P3000 145/70 R12?
  2. If not, what do you suggest?
    • i.e. Are the Falken's any good. If so, I assume I should just have a pair of these up front.
  3. What other 140/70 12 tyres do people recommend?

Thanks

I was after a good wet tyre with less noise and purchased these last year, I have completed 18K on them and 2 need replacing. If you corner really hard as I have the outer shoulder has worn far more than the rest even after rotating them and with higher tyre pressure, and yes the tracking is correct. I recommend them and shall be replacing them with the same.

Pirelli haven't made the P3000 for a long time, let alone in 145/70/12! So if you do find one be aware that it most certainly won't be knew, even if unused the tyre will be at least 10 years old.

The Falkens are good, tyre tech has moved on a lot, and whilst maybe not quite as good as Yoko's in 165/60/12, the falkens are cheap enough, perform well in the EET and dry, and are readily available. I've had a few sets and can't complain about them, they'll only be an improvement over your old school Pirellis!

These Nankang tyres are on my car, and had just been fitted when I got the car last year.
After having fallen ze912's before, I hate these Nankang. I find that they are comical / dangerous in the wet after having the falkens before.

So the fallen would be my recommendation
