Hi,

I am a newbie so forgive me, but after searching numerous threads I am still no wiser.

I have a 998c Mini Saloon rod change.

Bought this piece of kit for £30 new (purple anodised housing)...not KAD as they were twice the price and the kit looked pretty simple to fit.......yeah I know!

Confused:

1. Got the housing to fit by removing existing pins & a bit of filing - but can only seem to engage 1st & 2nd

2. Is the lift up bit redundant as I cannot see how reverse is selected as I cannot lift the quick shift to engage reverse?

I live in Malta & to purchase a KAD now is going to be too expensive as the shipping is extortionate - nearly £20 from UK :-(

Is there another work around for this copy KAD?

Regards

Si

Believe it or not I had the same problem with my genuine KAD quick shift. What you are experiencing is the shaft below the ball and socket joint hitting the selector housing. Remove the base plate and look up into the selector housing and try to select the gears you cannot, you will then be able to mark and later grind/file away material from the selector housing to engage gear. I hope this makes sense, it worked for me!
