Hello guys

This is my first post in this forum here and I hope I'm in the correct section...

I own a Mini Cooper S (2004) and I need to change the radio, as the old one is falling apart. I've been to a local "audio specialist" and he told me all adapters etc will cost me around 600 Swiss Francs, which is about 400£.

As I'm a total beginner with cars also all behind it, its still very expensive and I cant belive it...

Can anyone help me?

Best regards
Josh

This forum is mainly for classic mini owners so might get some better answers over at MINI2.
I know a little about radio wiring, and yes you will most likely need some adaptor to change it for a aftermarket radio but I don't think that they would be £400 pound, more like £20 but if you feel confident with wiring you could cut off the factory connector and wire up a new ISO connector which is the standard aftermarket plug

Any other audio experts to take it to ?
Some people just want to make money but as above an adapter to change the radio is normally £20-50 then it depends if your gonna wire it yourself or not

All you will need to change to an after market head unit ( radio ) are ISO connectors. These are standard fitment and go straight into the wiring. In the uk they are about £20 ish....

I suggest you try a decent "specialist "

No need as the MINi wiring accepts standard ISO adaptor leads :proud:

The second pic is for the antenna. You will need the adaptor plug to fit for aftermarket head unit
