Does anyone know of any mini specialists in the Farnham/Fleet area, I’ve heard of a few but haven’t a clue where they are! Or anywhere that’s good for getting welding done.

Cheers in advance

Dan

A bit further away are Minis Only in southampton. I was going to get my mini restored there a few years ago but I ran out of money! I had a look at some of their projects, and the quality of it was very impressive. I saw a pickup that had so many new pannels it was crazy!

I brought some wheels off Minis only a few years ago when I lived down that way, might give them a try, just trying to track down the ones local to me, ive heard they are meant to be quite good, but cant find any contact details! I might have to wait until I see the person who told me last time.

Cheers

Cheers for all the replies, the phone number at Minis Only is dead, but Matt at Newport Motors was very helpful and quite reasonably priced for welding work :D

Cheers Gaz, will do if i get anything done there,

Im still looking for a project at the moment, but starting to get annoyed when you ask people, is there rust/bubbling in all the important areas and they say no, and when you get there its coming through everywhere!

Heres a bad pic of my old mini, the yellow was alot brighter in real life, 1275 MG metro engine with all the other usual bits, was a bit of fun for my first car!

Nice little min that dan, why did you get rid?

I know what you mean about "accurate" descriptions of minis, the amount that i looked at before settling on the one i've got currently which were rustier than the bow of the titanic and were described as good condition for age!! Worst place for this was e-bay, although undoubtedly there are some good little finds on there too.

It's just occurred to me actually that Matt at Newport had a mini for sale when i was there the other day. Was a white checkmate with black roof and checkmate decals on the sides. 13 inch wheels if i remember rightly. I think he wanted around 1500 for it, but don't quote me. Although didn't actually look it over it didn't look too bad and he wouldn't sell a rotter anyway. May be worth a look.

It Seems theres a few people in this area!

I sold it when I went off to uni 5 years ago, I needed something a bit more 'motorway friendly' and brought myself a 205 GTi. It was an ongoing battle with rust in the floor pan anyway, it had a one page article in mini magazine November 2000 (if anyone can remember back that far) as well, quite fond memories of that car and all the shows we went to, all my other cars since don’t have the same appeal.

So now Im looking for another one as I’ve just finished uni and started a job.

Matt did mention about the mini city he had, so it might be worth a look during the week as I’m over that way, but the city's seem to be the worst for rust from the ones I’ve looked at, but sounded like a nice car with a cooper 1275 engine.

Cool, you'll always come back to minis as other cars just don't have the personality or charm!! And nothing can beat the aching in the lower limbs after a long journey; i use mine for trips up and down the motorway! Bit emotional after 2 1/2 hours, but not as hard core as my bro who drives his Sprotpack from the Midlands to central Germany on a regular basis!! :D

Anyhow, good luck with sourcing your next Mini!
