Hi all, as the title states, i need to replace seal kit as mine has split.
Is it easy to do, and how do you do it?
Any guidance would be great, thanks in advance

I broke down one of the metal Lockheed ones recently, pretty easy.

Just pull back the rubber collar at the bottom, remove the c clip (easy with the right tool, or fiddly if like me you had to do it with a couple of small screwdrivers. You should then be able to pull out the rod that attaches to the to the clutch pedal. Then the piston and spring should hopefully just drop out, mine needed a little coaxing as had a small amount of rust around the bottom of the cylinder bore. Hopefully the original seals will be intact enough so that you can see where to put the new ones.

Hope that helps

Jonny

As above.

Strictly speaking the cylinder bore should be lightly honed with a DIY small 3-legged hone (not expensive to buy) in a power drill at a VERY low speed. Then clean out the bore with Brake & Clutch Cleaner.

Once the bore has been honed, use either rubber grease or a small amount of brake fluid to lubricate the bore before re-fitting the cylinder with the new seal (fitted the correct way round).
