Hi;

Just taken delivery of some nice shiny Cupronickel Brake Pipes for my rear Subframe, can anyone advise on the best way of bending them into shape without breaking them?

Thanks

I just do it by hand. Any sharp bends and you'll need to bend it around something like a broom handle (Pull it around the broom handle so it doesn't kink).

Have a practice with a length first, what have you got to lose?

For Cupronickel ( or Kunifer ) you're better off using a tool as it's not as easy to bend as copper.

I have one of these...

Just go steady and as said have a practice first.

I have the set below so don't have anything to practice on, apart from the old copper pipes?

May need to get a tool, the Clarke on looks bigger, will it be small enough to do the pipes from the Wheel Cylinders to the Radius Arms from this kit?

I also found that bending the pipe before flaring the ends gave me a tighter bend or shorter distance from the end of the pipe to where the bend begins, as you don't have to leave space for the union when using the bending tool.

I found this essential when bending the pipes that go into the flexi pipes on the front subframe as the pipes were sticking up too much.
