Bit more low down puff compared to a sing HIF, but that's it.
I don't know, maybe £120-150 depending on many things

Complete strip, new spindle and bushings in the carb body, new jet assembly and needle and a new needle valve and reassembly getting the float lever set. Your biggest problem is reaming the new bushes to size when fitted, if you dont have a reamer, Don't be tembted to file them its not accurate enough. Give Burlean a ring 01722 412500

I think it is worth getting them if you can get them for a decent price, I certainly wouldn't pay the £150-200 that they go for on eBay. I recently bought a pair of HS2s with manifold etc. for £50 delivered. I'm currently rebuilding them and they did need it as the spindles had a heck of a lot of play.
Give Covert on here a PM to ultrasonically clean them, that way you can be sure that the dirt isn't going to cause issues, he did mine for a really good price and they look so much better.
A comprehensive rebuild kit is around £70 and that includes pretty much everything you need.
Twins are definitely worth it though, it really depends on the rest of the engine setup, but I usually find improved throttle response and more low down torque, perhaps with the reduction of a bhp or two at the very top end. That might be a problem if you like talking horsepower at the pub, but in reality the aforementioned improvements are definitely more noticeable and useful. I won't bore you with the reasoning behind these improvements, but basically more air/fuel can get through two partially opened smaller throttles than one larger opened to the same amount.
You can improve them further by doing 'Vizard Mods' on them, which involves making them flow better.

You can buy and refurbish a set of HS2s for well under £600!
Pair of carbs with manifold, heat shield and linkage - £50
Full rebuild kit - £70
Ultrasonic Cleaning - £20
= £140!

There's a 90's Cooper airbox with elbows on ebay right now for £60, but all my research says it's better to get the original cooper box
Yep, they fit the big oval filter and they aren't as efficient as the twin ones on the original Coopers

Not for the same CSA they can't. Simple area VS circumference calculations. You've got that completely around the wrong way.
