Classic Mini Sky Rose 1989 

 

Relisting again due to non paying bidder

Austin mini sky rose LTD 1989 1.0 

I have own the car for nearly 3 years now and its gone though a full restoration down to shell and rebuilt. The car is on a sorn and the mot has just ran out..

 

Whats been done;

 Exterior - all welding done, its had a full fiberglass front end molded on with a roll cage tube welded to front of wings to add strength and fiberglass bonnet with lockable pins. its had miglia arches fitted 

boot light been welded up and small LEDS fitted

its had a full respray primer, paint, lacquer - white roof, red body, black arches

Superlite wheels 13 x 7 with new tyres only done around 1000 miles on them and rear spacers 

Angel eye head lights

Pressed plates

New mirrors and astin martin fuel cap

(One arch is damage and will need re-fiber glassing and painting see pic 5 also the bonnet need repainting and there are a few marks around the body that need touching up )  

 

Interior - fully custom made by www.ashleyjamesautotrim.co.uk to suit car cost me £2700 with professional fitting

Dash has a 7 in screen fitted and two speakers 

Two lays of sound proofing on floor one under rear seats and rear pannels

(Rear belts need fitting but have them and under seat speaker board also need fitting but have that too)

 

Engine - its the original 1.0 engine has been stripped and refitted with new clutch, fly wheel and all new gaskets. 

New - mounts,  alternator, waterpump, radiator, hoses, and much more!

full stainless steel exhaust front to back

The mini wont start but does turn over..It has been sat for a few weeks...

 

Under car - new shocks with hi-lo's fitted 

All new front new cailpers, disks & pads , rear shoes and new brake lines all round 

fresh stone chip 

subframes re-painted 

 

 

Have proof for all the new parts in receipts with value to just under £8,000 ( mostly mini sport)

thats not including paint and other bits i have put around £10,000 into this car !

I never thought of selling her but due to starting a new business she has to go

Sure this has been on 2/3 times now. I think the owner is maybe bidding it up, then getting stuck with it.....hence the "non paying bidder".

Doesnt run, got shitty arches which look terrible, no tax or mot, needs paint and bodywork....whos bidding on this?

 

I certainly dont see where the 10k as gone into it?

I saw it on eBay and (quite) liked the look..

I don't like the price, or the headlamp surrounds, though..

Don't like that at all looks like a spaceship with those wheels/arches combo

Ha Ha. Would have been worth more if it was a standard original sky rose!

 

Can't see the point in these types of build personally  unless you intend to keep it for yourself.

 

Looks like it sold for 1300 quid then
