Am getting there with my mini now (will post pics at some point)

Had new inner & out sills and some repairs done to the floor.  Blitzed a rust bubble on the bonnet (not the greatest paint job with a rattle can but 95% of it is hidden by a new bonnet stripe and sorted for the time being) the rust issue on the front and rear lip (cut out, treated and painted).

The car is has had its first really good polish and this is when I picked up where I have bubbling.  Very slight bubbling at the corner of the scuttle, small bubbling at the top of the passenger door, just under the window, small bubbling on passenger step - all of which I cam comfortable to grind and treat from both sides and ,

The one that stumps me is on the rear quarter passenger side.  Where the arch joins to to near the sill is the worst bubbling.  If I grind this back - and zap it - even worse case cut a bit out - can a new piece be welded in here?   This seems a legacy from my over sills debacle......

Don;t really want to consider replace a whole back quarter panel - this seems excessive for bubbling about 1/2 -3/4 inch across right in the very corner of the panel.  (I know that it spreads so am expecting a bigger area to grind down).

Run out of funds for this year so this'll be a job next spring !!!

Also - I would be a lot more comfortable doing these repair jobs if I could get a paint match - can body shops sell you a can of paint mixed to match?  I'm not after getting a concourse car - just a clean example of a 22 year old vehicle.

You can buy a lower quarter repair panel very easily. Fairly straight forward to do but be careful of rippling the quarter panel. Something like Frosts Cold front will help to prevent that.

The other rust could be more of an issue as it will be starting from behind the panels especially the scuttle and door step. Again you can do localised repairs by cutting out and welding in fresh metal.

Post some piccies and we can give you a better idea of what you need to do.

Also when repairing the bottom of the quarter panel, make sure you remove any trim well out of the way. Austin rover like to stuff bits of foam in strange places and this is obviously a fire hazard.

Body shops don't tend to supply rattle cans but paint factors do and will match any colour.

Yes i have and used it on Wills Mini Special. It works well. You do need to use it liberally to be really effective. Re usable and if it hardens then add a little water to the pot and mix well.
