Hi everyone,
When replacing inner sills what do you do about new jacking points?
Weld Jacking point onto inner sill before inner sill is welded on the car or after inner sill is welded on the car?
Thanks in advance

That's what I thought as a bit tight, thanks for answering.

I would fit the inner sill first and then the jacking point.
You can line it up easily enough by using some putty to 'stick' it in place.
Put some putty on the back of the jacking point, offer up the outer sill and jacking point together and push the jacking point into the putty. Then you can take the outer sill away leaving the jacking point where it needs to be.
Then all that remains is to mark where the jacking point is by scribing or drawing round it, remove the jacking point and putty and then weld it in where you marked it.
If you done it right, the outer sill will line up perfectly.

I test fitted my outer sill the other day and the hole for the Jacking Points seems to be way out? Was going to weld them closed anyway

I have always welded the inner sill in place, then positioned the jacking point using the outer sill to get the position right.
But with M-Machine now doing a combined inner & outer sill, complete with jacking point and a few inches of floor I now buy this sub-assembly as it makes life just so much easier.
