the MOT is lurking and with less than a month to go i have to sort out my rear radius arm, wheel bearing and ball joints. I know how to do the radius arm and ball joint but how do you do the wheel bearing can you do this at home? if so what tools do you need if not what do i do?

yes can do at home, will need large socket (as wide as possible to just fit in hub and tap bearing down without damage), blunt pointed object to tap old bearings out, tourque wrench (needs to be a fairly high range as the hub nuts on discs are very tight.) sockets to undo /do hub nut, balljoints and other parts secured to hub, breaker bar. Make sure you buy genuine timken bearings, they are much more expensive than others even minispares own but worth it. A year or so ago a mini ended up bouncing down a motorway when a rear bearing failed and if that's not a warning against cheap/worn parts i don't know what is! Cant remember who it was or the exact reason for faliure but they were ok.

do you have a Haynes manual? If i remember rightly that was fairly comprehensive in explaining it and has tourque figures.

you will also want a large flat washer to torque the hub nut on first before removing, fitting normal hub washer and re torqueing.
