Proud new owner of a '65 Countryman:) and I want to make sure I'm doing everything properly to my little piece of history. She runs great by the way the way and is just about all original.

I love the rusty patina this car has and I don't have plans to paint it.

That in mind, it needs a wash. I want to be extra careful as it has a bit of rust.:)

Can anyone suggest products, tools, and techniques to wash the car?

Also the interior - vinyl, seats, dash, headlining, etc. What should I be using to clean?

You can see in a couple pics, around the front door hinges, where i just wiped off some of the dirt with water and a soft cloth.

Thanks for your time, thrilled to finally be in the club:)

I personally hand washed mine 83' mayfair (bucket & sponge) then just made sure i dried it properly (microfibre towel) & left it in the sun after soo nothing was still damp

Autoglym interior shampoo is good :)

Thanks for the tip!! Do you put any soap in your bucket, or is it just water?

I use dodo juice shampoo but for your first wash just use water until your comfortable with washing your car :)

I have one of these I use on my naked motorcycle, XJR1300. I rarely use anything more than a damp cloth near the mini (then polish + wax), but incase I get stuck in heavy rain I use it to blow the water out of all the tiny gaps. Also use to blow up kids paddling pool and inflatable beds..!
