Not really sure what section to put this, mods feel free to move..........

So, we have on our car a single box stainless RC40 which we are looking to change to a Fletcher.

Will be looking to potentially purchase the Fletcher at MITP but am wondering if they will fit onto our manifold. Im assuming ( as ours has no cat ) that the manfold/downpipe has been changed to an LCB. If so , does anyone know if the Fltecher will go straight on?

Also, we will be looking to sell the RC40 and wondered whatit might be worth. Its in mint condition all be it about 4 years old.

Cheers

think your going to have to get under the car and measure the size of the pipe after the LCB

Ironically, I have the min in at the moment for some work, and I'm changing the Fletcher exhaust over for an RC40, both stainless steel, I can't stand the noise of the Fletcher any more. Plus it's drawing too much of the 'wrong' kind of attention, if you know I what I mean.

We are changing as we prefer the look of the Fletcher. Our car is noisy (ish ) anyway and only a weekend car so the noise wont be too much of an issue.

I've got the fletcher on my 998 at the minute.
Yes it's loud, at times too loud.
And yes it often gets the wrong attention.
But, other than a long motorway drive its ok.
The drone can get a bit monotonous on a long run.
But i don't think I'll change it. Well not yet!

Our car drones a bit I think its the nature of the car. After looking some vids on youtube, I think its the way forward

Initially it goes, manifold (3 into 2), down pipe (2 goes into 1 along with a flexi pipe), cat which bolts up both ends followed by the two box exhaust (back box).

Check to see if you have a decat pipe or whether you have a link pipe that connects from the end of the down pipe to the RC40 - you may be able to use it again on the fletcher unless you buy a cat back system.

I'm running a decat and maniflow (single box) on mine ATM.

As far as I know it has an LCB with a single box RC40 attatched to it. Not sure if it has a flexi or not. I guess im going to have to get underneath and have a look :)

Do you know if it is an injection LCB? (More than likely to retain the lambda sensor) you probably have a link pipe going to the rear box too.

Jump under her and have a quick peek :)

The other side is you will loose torque and power.

I was talking to Andy at ML Motorsport on the weekend - standard exhaust manifold is adequate enough (it's a 3 into 2 into 1 as standard), a decat can see an increase in fueling (but without adjusting the map which you're restricted to on an original ecu you won't see many if any gains apart from noise) and the best size exhaust is a 1"3/4.

The car is a 91 SPI. Will have a look over the weekend and see whats what.

I dont recall seeing one, that said I have not had a proper look. Where abouts on a sytem are they located? I assume it will be on the manifold or near the link pipe?
