Hi I am starting to race senior mini and have never tuned a mini before their are a lot of restrictions and wondered what I could do to make a screemer rules are
You can use a series 1275 +20tho block can be decked so pistons are level with block and head can be scimed any rockers that don't need modifying to fit any intake /exaust manifold carb must be 1"1/3 but is open to mods
You can't port polish lighten or ballance engine fly whee etc and gear box cant be altered but you can use any standees diff no lsd's tho

(on shrt ovel your in 2nd gear all the time coming out of corner at say 2.5-3k rpm and rev no 8/8.5 k down straight before shutting of to get it round the next bend )

My question is
Best cam can be as aggressive as out just need to get revs up and hard ASAP
Best followers for the job
Any body know a good diff for sprint / fast get up and go
What can I do to the su carb /needle to help me get the best out of it
Is their anything I should try and do or check rools that I haven't said above that will help me any more
I use to race a capri on the ovel and built a good few flying ford v6 cosworth engines but the a series is new to me and any advise on tuning would be grate

Thanks ryan

Hi where are you planning to race your short oval mini? I used to race junior minis for 7 years then Progressed to the adult class for 4 years before changing cars. We were only allowed 1.0litre engines with very restricted mods (even in the adults category) at Standlake Arena, Near Witney, Oxford. Email me if you like at [email protected] and I'll see if I can help you out. Different differentials, (different ratios depending on the track) needles etc... I'm sure can give you hints and tips.
