Hi all . does anyone have any clever solutions to replacing the rubber cv gator without the hassle of removing the drive shaft ? It seems like a lot of work just to replace a £4 part !!

There are tools that stretch it over the CV, I think this is an option, but I am not sure if some tools are better than others.

Edit: Just realised you don't even want to remove the drive shaft, don't think that is an option?

With these tools, it will be necessary to remove the shaft, it isnt difficult!
I just remove caliper(2bolts) the shaft nut (and split pin!)from the middle of the hub..
Then the ball joints, (one nut each)
Then cut the tie from the pot joint and pull it out!

Parkers sell the universal kits..
you have to cut it down to size and as stated has to be glued once fitted round the shaft, I got one last year as a temporary fix before I did L2B but was a right faff and the grease just gans everywhere lol!

many thanks all. just realised the reason the gator went in the first place is that the fletcher exhaust fitted last year is touching it. dont know how the hell im going to move it !!!
